I just like to finger paint on my phone now @kateligraphy #kateligraphychallenges . . . find more things to letter @letteringchallenges
So I actually put in some effort and tried using my paint brush to letter. It didn't turn out to be as hard as I thought it was going to be. Just have to go slow and let the brush lead. I'm happy with how it came out. And my globe! Love it. #letteritoctober @jennyhighsmith
I am capable! You are capable! @jennyhighsmith #letteritoctober
Follow your heart! And your gut. Because sometimes your heart is just crazy. But the gut is mostly always right. #letteringwithpositivity @lettersbyshells @jeshypark @leslie.writes.it.all
These are days 2, 3 and 4 for @randomolive #brushletterpracticechallenge I can't draw for anything! But I love to eat candy so it balances out? I don't know. And milk dud's bring back horrible memories. That was a nickname I had in middle school along with many others. #stopthebullying
LA PAZ! With a little tie dye peace sign. I tried anyway hahaha lettering with brush and watercolors again. #happyletteringchallenge @happyletteringchallenge
Raise! Rasie yourself up, your children, your head, your chin, etc. Raise. #happyletteringchallenge
No rain. No Flowers. @bydawnnicole #dndchallenge
The next two are for @ipadlettering #top100words challenge. I'm using the T.Sketches Pro app on my iphone. Done with my finger. I'm not sure why my "f" in of looks so much like a "b". Hmmm maybe have to work on that. Or just keep it the way it is because that's my cursive handwriting.
NEW MARKER ALERT!!! I was so happy when I saw this prompt for #letteringwithpositivity from @lettersbyshells @jeshypark @leslie.writes.it.all
The neon markers where an impulse by and I got to put them to good use :)
Country or City? for #letterthisorthat with @lettersofinterest I'm a lot of country with a little bit of city. I need my wide open spaces and the outdoors but I also need a nightlife and shopping nearby.
Putting my cute little stamps to good use! I love this gumball machine :) #happyletteringchallenge with @happyletteringchallenge
This is the word "be" for @ipadlettering #top100words and how funny it is that this famous line is made up of all top 100 words! lol I'm a dork I know I know
So there are SO MANY lettering challenges to choose from this month. More than any other month that I've reposted them all together! Theres at least 60 I think. That's insanely amazing! So I decided that I would check in to a couple for each month. Here was a complete spread!
Also posted on my personal IG account @hey.stacee
This Buddha quote below is actually for the German lettering challenge by @iletterju.
It turned out a lot better than I thought it would, honestly! It was the first one I wrote this morning.
I think a lot of what you write has to do with how you feel. I LOVE any Buddha quote. So it shows :)
This pineapple was done with a stamp I bought at Michaels on a random itch to buy something next to the check out. Hahaha can't resist a cute little pineapple. This was for the @happyletteringchallenge #happyletteringchallenge . The word was "crown" and a pineapple was the FIRST thing that I thought of. I also miss summer and will use any excuse to keep it here.
So in keeping with the Halloween spirit of October, I did my best to letter The Nightmare Before Christmas for @letteredbyalexa #octnightmarelettering challenge. I can really see how my confidence shows through my work because the painting was fun but then the lettering made me nervous! I don't do it in pencil first! I just write and hope it looks like how I want it to look. Probably not a good idea but sometimes freehand ends up looking great! Never doubt your creativity.
OMG have you seen @ipadlettering and her skills!? Man oh man. Sometimes I wish I could just watch her videos and stare at her pictures so i can absorb the awesomeness that is her lettering. I mean how? HOW does she do it!? Her challenge this month is #top100words and even though I have an ipad I'm keeping up with my brush lettering. Mainly because my daughter has taken over the ipad pro. It's like it's not even mine anymore. Cant resist her cute little self, so brush pens it is.
I also tried my hand at ombre style! Dipping the marker into another color is so much easier than it looks for me. I'm not sure why. Probably because I'm so nervous about lettering. Like it has to be perfect or something. Ugh.
Another new thing I tried... shadows. Lol what am I doing? I don't have a gray brush pen so I just used a regular thin liner pen. Anyway, don't pay attention to that hahaha. This was for the #letterthisorthat challenge by @lettersofinterest
Popcorn or chips? CHIPS PLEASE. Can't stand kernels in my teeth. Literally almost typed colonels LOL
I loved my little s for this one.
So last but not least is the #hiphoplettering challenge that usually has a prompt for the day that is a song. You can letter a lyric from the song or the title, whichever suits you. This month @hiphoplettering is doing a weekly challenge based on the decades and this week was 1970s-1980s hip hop. I chose The Humpty Dance because this song cracks me up! I can't help but dance silly when I hear it. "The humpty dance is your chance to do the hump!" hahaha And his nose! His nose in the video is TOO FUNNY! I did my best at trying to draw it even though my drawing skills are at Level- "stop trying". I had fun with it though!
"Oh oh do me baabyy"
These October challenges are going to be SO FUN!
Which ones are you joining?
Practice daily! See you tomorrow!
Check out all of the new lettering challenges for October!! Always a great turn out with so many great challenges! And yes, I love posting them every month! I waited a little longer this time because posting early seems to take away the effect from others. There are just so many to look through!
Thats why I throw them all at you at one time mwhahaha!
That's my evil laugh. I'm already practicing for Halloween.

These have to be my two favorite brush pens for lettering. SO JUICY! Crayola brush pen in red and Faber Castell PITT artist pen BIG BRUSH in black.

This entry just got to me today. Perfect quote for how I'm feeling. So this post is going to be filled with a lot of what's been on my mind lately.
So long story short I graduated from college in 2011 with my Bachelors and decided to go back for my Masters this year. Did you know that math and science classes have a 10 year limit? It was heartbreaking really because all of my core classes were taken in 2006. I would have to basically redo my entire Bachelors just to go ahead and get my Masters or go further. I feel like such a failure. Like I didn't try hard enough during my undergrad. I had so many ideas of what I could do that I never really decided on anything. I didn't put enough afterthought into what I wanted to do with my degree. I got As and Bs but for what? I have no direction. STILL have no direction, and now that I've found my direction I have to start all over! Ugh. Such a waste. So here I am lately full of fear and loathing and this is the quote for the day. Let's just say I needed it. And I realized that I've learned some things.
1) Go to college with a goal in mind on how you will use your degree. Don't be like me and spend more time NOT worrying about those things. Your degree should be a way to do better in a career. I just assumed without the extra effort. What was I thinking? Hindsight is 20/20.
2) Don't graduate and feel like you're done. Push forward. Do more. Volunteer! Shadow! Find a job that relates. Get out there! It's like I graduated and said "Thank you I'm done! Never doing this sh*t again." And it's catching up to me.
3) Have a plan. A one year plan. A 5 year plan. An 8 year plan. Yes all of the above. Ask yourself "What do I see myself doing in ___ days/weeks/months/year(s)?" What are you working towards? Where do you WANT to be at the end?
4) Take every chance. Drop every fear.
#4 is so much deeper to me now that I think back and wish that I had tried harder. But honestly there's nothing wrong with going back and wanting to do the right thing. It's not too late just because it's been so long, or that I have a daughter now, or the money. I take that back the money is a huge issue but doing things right this time involves actually finding and applying to scholarships. 50 x $1000 = $50,000 in scholarships. It's so possible to go back to school! I have to take every chance and opportunity thats out there. I have to drop every fear and just do it. Live my life for me; for my daughter.
Do you have any fears that need to be dropped? How are you taking every chance to better your life? Good luck!
I used my favorite brush pen from Crayola for the darker blue (seriously try them, so juicy). The lighter blue was written with a Copic Marker BG45. Accents were Tombow Dual Tip Brush Pens.
Every morning my mom sends me the quote of the day from the local newspaper. I lettered it and my 2 year old daughter Mya decided to draw her version of lightning. Hahaha! Love her.
lol I sing along to Just A Friend by Biz Markie all the time. Yes and even the 2002 version never gets old.

It's the first day of Autumn 😩😩😩 Goodbye summer. I can't wait to see you again next year. I'll start preparing for the cold weather now.

A girl can dream. Are you excited to Fall? I'm not because that means Winter is coming. At least The Walking Dead comes back in a month!!!
